SCP-D83

Item #: D83

Object: Safe Euclid*

Special Containment Procedures: None

Description: SCP-D83 is a collective name for a nomadic group of interdimensional travelers. The head of the group, "Tabku" creates portal for its companions as they travel to a different dimension once a year.

In the third year of their settlement, they summon a humanoid figure to help them with their crops. They named this figure "Aquill".

Aquill looks human in appearance, taking the form of a caucasian male with brown hair and eyes. But its true form is a shadowy mass that is human-like silhouette with glowing, yellow eyes, horns, tail with spines, frills and wings; the spines and horns have yellow tips. Aquill is very friendly, but wary when it comes to strangers.

In the fourth year of the settlement, a bipedal bear-like humanoid named Isa-Nanako discovered a type of mold that can only be maintained by heat. Nanako calls this type of mold "Dullgynaria". His former friend, Connal said he could cultivate the mold. This seemed to have led to a makeshift courtcase labelled, "The Cult of Lago vs the People".

In the fifth year of the settlement, there has been a division of the group. Five out of the twenty-six nomads, formed a cult-like group and separated from SCP-D83. They named themselves "The Order of New Life" or TONL.

The TONL settled in a nearby dense forest. They claimed to be aggressive, but never did any harm to the researchers who were sent to observe them.

SCP-D83 continues to be somewhat active and further investigations are put on hold, until an eventful situation happens.

Investigation Logs:

February 15, 20XX

Dr. Seymour and Dr. Jameison are in the observation room. Seymour glanced over to the terminal screen to see a red, beeping light next to it. “Hey, Rod… I need you to come look at this.” Seymour called him over. Jameison walked over to him. “What the…?” he said.

    “Should we report this?”

They call in Director Winfrey. He walks in. “What do you think?” Jameison asked him. “I think we should fire up that old machine that we haven’t used in a few months or so.” the Site Director stated. “Would that take a while?” asked Seymour. There was silence from Winfrey.

    “You okay?”

“I’m a little hungover, right now from last night."

“Oh, uh. Take it easy, alright.”

Winfrey nods, smiling with tired eyes as he leaves the room.

Dr. Jones walks in front of the threshold of Winfrey’s office’s. A dim lamp on his desk was his only lightsource. “Hey, Del. I heard you weren’t doing so good…” he said. They were asleep at their desk. “Oh, he’s sleeping, okay.” Jones whispered.

He then walked into the observation room. “What’s going on in here?” he asked. Seymour and Jameison look at him. “Did Del send you?” Seymour asked him.

    “Um… not really…”

They see Dr. Henrietta and Dr. Dennels walk pass by the room. Dennels goes back and gently pulls Henrietta into the room by her arm.

The whirring of the dimension traveling machine staggered a bit. Someone tapped on Henrietta's shoulder. It was Dennels. He points over to a machine that was glowing with a soft, light blue.

    “What’s that for?” she asked.

“It makes a person travel through different realities.” says Director Winfrey, walking into the room. Jones walks towards him and places his hand on their shoulder. “You doing alright?” he asks, quietly. Winfrey nods.

“Are you sure you don’t want to go home and have either me or Charlie take over?” Jones asks, again but now with a concern tone. They nod, again and said, “I’m alright.”

“Ah, so a portal machine.” said Henrietta. She watched something flickered inside the machine. It reminded her of how a computer would start. 'Well, atleast this one doesn’t insult people and says, "fuck".' she thought, cocking her head and staring at the light. “Is it working?” she asked.

    “It’s getting there…” answered Jameison.

'Yep, just like an old computer.'

The flickering light became three, horizontal rings sliding to the top and then to the bottom; exchanging sizes as they moved. “Should we test it?”

“After we do,” said Seymour. “We can always will send… you know… the D-classes to the other side of the portal to see what happens.”

“It should, I mean do you want me to get Teo or Chris over here?” said Jones.

“I don’t think that would be necessary, unless you want to get them.”

Henrietta walks over to the machine. She reaches out her arm to the light. She could feel a static sensation as if she were to touch something on the other side, it would have shocked her. “Xandra, not yet.” says Winfrey. She was half way through the portal. She stops in her tracks and turns to the Site director. “Hm?” she said, tilting her head.

    “Are you okay?” asked Dennels.

“Uh, yeah. It just feels a little weird. I’ll get out.” she says as she steps out of the portal. She shakes off that weird buzzing feeling in her left leg and arm.

February 25, 20XX

After running a few tests on the machine, Site Director Dr. Delgado Winfrey sent Dr. Mateo Rodriguez, Dr. Kenneth Dennels and Dr. Xandra Henrietta to the other dimension sensed by one of their computers. They were tasked to record their findings in the area.

“Okay, we’ve booted this thing up…” said Rodriguez.

“Anyone want to do the honors?” asked Dennels.

“I know we’ve run a few tests on this thing, but does it still work?” asked Jameison, who was monitoring the three researchers.

“I mean it still has to. We didn’t run those tests for nothing.”

“Still, I’m not sure if this thing is still stable…”

Dr. Henrietta tired of listening to Jameison worry, went through the portal in the machine. She heard him call out to her, but it was too late she tripped out into a forest on a cliffside. Over the edge there was a gathering of three figures in a triangle surrounding a pond. She then turned back and saw both Rodriguez and Dennels staring back at her with surprise. She waved at them with a smile and reached into her messenger bag for her glasses. She put them on her face as Dennels walks out to her with a misstep.

Rodriguez hesitated a little. He sighed and stumbled right into the scene.

Henrietta steps closer to the edge of the cliff. “Careful.” says Rodriguez. She glares over to him, annoyed. She then looks out over the edge. She sits down cross legged and pulls out a pair of binoculars out of her bag. With the binoculars, she could see that the three figures were on a platform above the pond with stairs leading to it.

Dennels walks to her. She gives him the binoculars and he looks into them. “It looks like a ritual or something.”. He then hands her back the binoculars.

She looks through them, again. She sees a shadowy, humanoid figure wearing a wolf head and mechanical limbs, another humanoid with feline and bovine features that was wearing a skort and a red suit with a black tie, and a red, bipedal, dragon-like humanoid in a black gi. They seem to be mouthing something… a name perhaps?

Rodriguez moves towards the two. Henrietta hands him the binoculars. He takes them from her and looks through them. Henrietta looks up, takes out her Polaroid camera from her bag and starts taking pictures. Dennels, wondering what she was looking at looks up as well.

There was a portal in the sky. It matched the color of ocean water viewed from under a wave. “Teo…” she said to Rodriguez. He turns to her. “Look up.” she says to him. He did what he was told. With wide eyes, Rodriguez looked up. He could see the reason why they were watching the sky. Lighting bolts struck, even when there was no sign of a thunderstorm. Multicolored particles quickly formed into a vortex. Henrietta stood up. Then there was a loud crackling sound. Dennels stepped back behind the two researchers. A flash almost blinded them.

After that event happened, the three researchers opened their eyes. There was a fourth figure now on the platform. It was shadowy with horns and wings. Its back spines and horns had yellow tips.

    “Should we leave?” asked Rodriguez.

“Yeah, I think we should call it.” said Dennels.

Henrietta kept staring over the edge, watching the figures leave the platform. Even one of them jumped off of it. “Xandra!” called out Dennels. “Let's go!”. She followed them to the portal that they first came out of. “Did you get everything?” Jameison asked. She takes the photos out of the folder she kept them in, she nods and places them back into the folder.

February 28, 20XX

The researchers returned to the strange dimension in time for a court case. They went into the courtroom to escape the heat. All eyes then turned to them. “Uh… we’re here for the… filibuster?” Henrietta piped up.

“Oh, sorry.” says Kal, the judge of the courtroom—a bipedal, fox and cat-like creature. “That’s… next week, right?” He turns to an individual by the name of “Dragon”.

He was a bipedal creature with serpent and mammal-like features. He wore an overcoat and torn, leather pants over his grassy green, matted fur. “Fill-ee-buh-stur…?” he said quietly with a soft, central European accent.

    “Dragon?” says Kal.

“Heh? Oh, yeah. That’s next week.”

“Please, sit down. Join us!” Kal told them, cheerfully.

Rodriguez hesitated a little. He was going to tell Dennels to stop, but he saw Dennels go to sit down.

Henrietta looked up at Rodriguez. “Well,” she said. “It's not polite to refuse.”. He sighed and followed her to sit down.

The judge smiled and continued with the case.

The defendant was the Creed of Lago—a cult with only two members—Tabku, a “shadow-shifter” and Connal, a bugbear; and the plaintiff was the civilians of the town. The courtroom was possibly once a schoolhouse or perhaps a citadel and some of the civilians were like rowdy, bored students shooting paper-headed arrows and drinking their own versions alcoholic drinks.

Henrietta had to dodge one while writing down notes.

“I don’t think they’re allowed to do that,” said Jameison quietly to Henrietta.

“No… I don’t think any of this is allowed in any court case.” she whispered.

They just saw a bear-kin named, “Isa-Nanako” bribe one of the officers, “Elro”.

Suddenly, they went out traveling to somewhere that had lavender colored grass and a strong scent of sage that made Henrietta almost gag.“You alright?” asked Dennels. “Yeah I just have a slight headache, that’s all.” she tells him.

    “Just remember to drink water.”

    “Mhm,”

The Creed of Lago led them to a cage where their “leader”, which was a small, brown rabbit.

“No, wonder. Lago must be short for Lagomorph.” said Henrietta.

“The cult of the rabbit. Why a rabbit?” says Rodriguez.

Dr. Henrietta squints. “Though taking a closer look at it, I think it's actually a hare.”

“Hares are known for bad luck in India.” commented Dennels.

“But this isn’t India. At Least, not a different reality version of it…”

“Maybe they are a holy animal here.” Dennels mentioned.

Both men looks at Henrietta as she stifles back a giggle.

    “Wha-what’s so funny?” asked Rodriguez.

“I don’t know why, but this reminds me of that one Monty Python skit. I’m- I’m sorry if I put that image in your head.”

“You got that from Geoff—”. He nudges her with his elbow. “—Pandeja.” He laughs, too.

“Again, I’m so sorry.” she squeaked.

They then watched Isa quickly kill the small creature with one swipe of his sword. They then headed back to the courtroom. The Creed of Lago was found guilty of bribery, scam and false advertisement. They were arrested along with the former sheriff, a blonde female humanoid named, “Phlavya” being demoted for treason.

October 1, 20XX

Dr. Rodriguez, Dr. Henrietta and Dr. Dennels have came back to the dimension. They decided to explore the nearby pine forest, which was said to be haunted. From the facility, the team gathered the following:

  • Night vision camera (x3; one for each researcher)
  • An Ovilus (EVP recorder)
  • Candles and matches
  • An Ouija board
  • A thermal camera
  • An EMF reader

They all felt watched as they set foot into the woods with all invisible eyes coming from every direction on them. They were also on a new cult’s territory. The Order of New Life—or the TONL lived deep in this forest. They were known for being intimidating, scaring people off and killing anyone who got in their way.

Henrietta felt dread for trespassing and the feeling of being unwelcome hung over her, like heavy fog over a lake.

The three researchers noticed claw marks scratched into a few trees nearby.

Dennels and Henrietta went to feel the markings. They were cut very deep into the wood. Sap was slowly oozing out and attracting ants and flies, but they weren’t the only ones in the forest. Behind them was a ferret-like individual known as “Folivyr”. He was the smallest of the TONL, but very agile and quick with his claws.

“Gah— you scared me!” Henrietta told him. The researchers were met with silence. He gave them a blank, sleepless stare as if he wasn’t sure he saw them around before or not.

“We were just leaving…” said Dennels. “C’mon let's go.” he whispered, holding onto Henrietta’s arm and leading her away with Rodriguez following close behind. They all left, leaving Folivyr to watch them go.

They headed back to the woods with their supplies once it became night time. They made camp in a clearing and slept in one big tent on an air-mattress big enough to fit all three of them. As they finished setting up, they started with the investigation.

Henrietta turned on the EMF reader and the Ovilus. “Is there anyone here?” she asked.

Nothing, just silence. Then, “It is me.” said something through the Ovilus.

“Oh, hello.” she responded to the robotic voice of the device. “Do we know you?”

    “Milo.”

“Is this… Milo?”. She turns to rest of the team and explains who Milo is.

“Yes.” he says through the Ovilus.

“Wait, wait, wait— You had a ghost haunting your apartment and you didn't tell us?” asked Rodriguez.

“I thought it wouldn't be a big of a deal since he's not hurting anyone.” said Henrietta.

    “How do you know that—”

    “Shut up.” says Milo.

    Dennels and Henrietta giggles.

    “Here to help.”

    “See, he's here to help.”

“Okay, Milo.”. He checks the thermal. His eyes widen as he sees a fourth reddish-orange humanoid figure on the thermal.

“I am really here.” the ghost says.

“Yeah— yeah— I can see you on the— on the screen.”

He leans to Xandra. “Does he know what a screen is?”

“He knows what a screen is, yeah.” she tells him.

“Milo, how can you help us?”

    “I can speak to him.”

    “To who?”

    “Follow me.”

    “Where?”

    “Colder.”

Rodriguez curses in spanish under his breath. “Seriously, we're gonna play Hot 'n Cold with a ghost.”

“It is the way.”. If he was visible, Milo would have a smug grin on his face.

He opens his mouth to protest.

Henrietta sighs and gestures the two men to follow her. “C'mon.”.

    “Colder…”Colder…” “Warm…” “Getting close…” “He's here.”

    “Who?”

All three researchers notice a horrible stench.

Henrietta sniffs. She winces at the smell. “It smells like burnt rubber…”

“I smell it, too…” says Dennels.

Henrietta followed the smell to some thick foliage. “Oh—!” she said in surprise. She mentioned that the scars on the body looked like writing, but she couldn’t make it out.

“What? What do you see?” said Rodriguez as he walked over to her. “Oh, no mames guey…”

    “He refuses to rest.”

“We don't know who this he is, Milo.” Henrietta stated. “Can you please tell us?”

Just then debri hit the three researchers.

    “The Ovilus just shut off.”

More debri was just about to hit them, but it was stopped in mid-air.

The debri then slowly fell to the ground.

“You guys saw that, too, right?” asked Dennels.

    “Yeah…” replied Rodriguez.

Henrietta stays silent as she turns the Ovilus back on. “Hello? Milo, are you here?”

    She was met with silence.

Sketches

A member of the TONL named, Folivyr left these scratch marks; possibly as a way to mark territory.

A sketch of what some claim to be the ghost of a former member of SCP-D83.
Possibly Folivyr?
